Fully Human

“To live as an artist is a way of being in the world. A way of perceiving. Refining our sensitivity to tune in to the more subtle notes.” (Rick Rubin)

for a day

What is Fully Human?

Fully Human began as a five-week poetry journey. This is that journey, distilled into a single day.

Three and a half hours of writing, editing, and questioning — not necessarily in that order.

You’ll write heart-centred, out-of-the-ordinary pieces. You’ll also leave with new lenses to look through: at the world, at your own creative process.

It might feel unfamiliar. Uncomfortable. Different. But it will change how you write, and how you notice what’s going on around and inside you. I’ll be there the whole way through.

For writers.

Poets.

Artists.

Or for those on the way.

The structure

  1. Opening

    The workshop, and each other.

  2. Body & feelings

Somatic practices, then writing from what they surface.

  3. Mind & world

Stream of consciousness, observation, the practice of awe.

  4. The artist

    Putting it together.

Throughout: guided practices, meditation, prompts, tools, and sharing.

Breaks included.
